Mrs. Ruby Lee Ryder Ponder, age 82 of Jasper, GA, passed away on Thursday, May 7th, 2026 at her residence.

Mrs. Ponder was born on June 21st, 1943 in Jasper, GA to the late Thurston Boling and Alma Sallie Morris Boling. She was a graduate of Pickens High School, Class of 1961, and was a seamstress. She loved the Lord and was a devoted member of the Free Hope Baptist Church of Tate, GA.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ponder is preceded in death by her first husband of 39 years, Rev. Jerry Ryder; her second husband of 12 years, Mr. Fred Ponder; son and daughter-in-law, Danny (Carol Jean) Ryder, and brother, Robert Boling.

She is survived by family friends, David, Jill, and Dylan Mosley of Canton, GA, and brother-in-law, Randall Ponder of Talking Rock, GA.

Funeral Services to honor the Life of Mrs. Ponder will be held on Monday, May 11th, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from the Free Hope Baptist Church in Tate, GA with Rev. Nathan Smith, Rev. Ted Estes, and Rev. Johnny McPhearson officiating. The Free Hope Baptist Church Choir will do vocals. Graveside Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The following gentlemen will be serving as pallbearers: Stanley Morris, Jeff Kinser, E.C. Kelley, Troy Morris, Tony Aaron, Matthew Morris. Honorary pallbearers will include: Jack Pendley, Mike Jarrett, J.C. Boling, and James Morris.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 10th, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family will be accepting flowers in memory of Mrs. Ruby Ryder Ponder.
