Mr. Russell William Evans, age 59 of Ellijay, passed away on Tuesday, October 24th, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Evans was born in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY on September 29th, 1964 to the late Paul Martin Evans and Sharon Scheer Evans. He owned Ideal Auto Care in Ellijay for many years and also built custom cabinets. Russell loved his family and spending time with them. He also loved his goats and bees and enjoyed sharing information about beekeeping with anybody who would listen or showed interest in the bees. He was the President of the Gilmer County Bee Club. Mr. Evans also loved to drag race in the mud. He attended the Crossroads Christian Fellowship Church. Mr. Evans is preceded in death by his father, Paul Martin Evans, and his brother, PJ Evans.

Survivors include his wife, Abby Evans of the home; son, Joshua (Allie) Evans; two daughters, Amanda (Julio) Hing of Ellijay and Jordan (David) Ferto of Woodstock; mother, Sharon Scheer Evans of Ellijay; two brothers, Dean Evans and Joseph (Michelle) Evans; 10 grandchildren also survive.

To honor his wishes, Mr. Evans will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4th at 11:00 AM from the Crossroads Christian Fellowship Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations in memory of Mr. Russell Evans.
