Mrs. Sherry Lynn Newton, age 64 of Ellijay, passed away on Sunday March 13, 2022.

Mrs. Newton was born in Decatur, on March 29 ^th , 1957 to the late John Brock and Willene Burrell Brock St. Clair. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Newton; step-father, Harry St. Clair; sister, Becky Brock. Prior to becoming disabled, Mrs. Newton was a Realtor for West Realty.  She was a member of East Ellijay Baptist Church, and was part of Pam Callihans', "Grace and Truth Ladies" Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her two sons, Shannon Newton (Tina), and Scottie Payne (Jennifer); two daughters, Salina Stowe (Rob), and Scarlett Bearden (Cody); one brother, Clifford Brock; one sister, Donna Layton (Russell); 10 grandchildren, Austin Sims, Jay Stowe, Kelsey Payne, Eli Stowe, Jewel Newton, Abe Stowe, Leanna Newton, Sadie Bearden, Canaan Bearden, and Cooper Bearden; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Gloria Henderson and Jif Gates; her prayer warrior's, Sherry Gibson, Lisa Hensley, Vickie Waters, Jan Ballew, and Gina Hensley.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday March 15 ^th , 2022 at 2 PM at East Ellijay Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in Yukon Cemetery. Pallbearers include, Austin Sims, Jay Stowe, Eli Stowe, Abe Stowe, Derek Layton, and Richard Layton.

Honorary pallbearers include, Clarence Teague, Canaan Bearden, and Cooper Bearden.

The family will receive friends on Monday March 14 ^th from 4 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted, or donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
