Mrs. Shirley Ruth Wells Edmondson, age 83, of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

Mrs. Edmondson was born on May 13, 1943, in Ellijay, Georgia, to the late James Ruel Wells and Essie Mae Sales Wells. She was a faithful member of Pisgah Church of Christ. Mrs. Edmondson found great joy in working in her yard and tending to her garden, where she especially enjoyed flowers and watching birds. Above all, she cherished her family and treasured the time spent with those she loved.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Bill Gudger, Lois and Greer Dover, and Peggy Ridgewell.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Roger Edmondson, of Ellijay, GA; daughter, Angie Edmondson of Ellijay, sons, Michael Edmondson (Ashley), of Flowery Branch, GA, and Mark Edmondson, of Acworth, GA; brother, Ray Wells (Shirley), of Ellijay; sisters, Helen Winslett (Howard), of Maiden, SC and Christen Johnson, of Peachtree Corners, GA; brother in-law, Mike Ridgewell, of Woodstock, GA; 8 grandchildren, Haley Chambers (Brian), Ashley Edmondson, Kelsey Dyck (Matthew), Turner Edmondson, Justin Edmondson, Jeremy Edmondson, Josh Edmondson, and Andrew Edmondson; 7 great grandchildren, Harper Chambers, Bennett Chambers, Emma Edmondson, Grayson Edmondson, Ethan Edmondson, Kenzleigh Edmondson, and McKenna Edmondson.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 27th at 3 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home. She will be inurned privately in the Pisgah Church of Christ Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 27th from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Wellstar Community Hospice @ 475 Dickson Avenue NW Marietta, GA 30064 in memory of Mrs. Edmondson.
