Shirley W. Mulkey, age 80 of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 11th, 2024.

Mrs. Mulkey was born on March 21, 1944, in Gilmer County. Shirley was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church. She loved The Lord and her family. She was a homemaker and loved the outdoors and flowers. She is preceded in death by her, husband Lloyd Mulkey, and mother, Ottis Bowen.

She is survived by her brothers, Larry Bowen, East Ellijay; Monroe (Wanda) Bowen, Ellijay; Mitchell (Diane) Bowen, Ellijay; Buddy (Kendra) Coffey Dalton, GA; sisters, Melinda (James) Walker, Ellijay, Marilyn (Eldridge) Harper, Ellijay, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lana (Johnny) Henson, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 14th, 2024 at 4:00 pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Parks officiating. Interment will follow in the Yukon Cemetery. Pallbearers serving the family will be her nephews: Darien Bowen, Patrick Walker, Britney Bowen, Brandon Harper, Adam Harper, and Chadwick Harper. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Randall Ponder, Randy Ponder, Brent Ponder, Eddie Crump, Jimmy Crump, Billy Crump, Mike Sales, Matt Sales, Scott Jones, Dink Lanning, Darrell Crump, Shawn Crump, Freddie Crump, and Keith Crump.

The family will meet with friends on Saturday, September 14th from 12:00 pm until the service hour of 4:00 pm at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted but the family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home.
