Mr. Steven Daniel Cavanaugh, age 65 of Ellijay, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Emory Hospital.

Mr. Cavanaugh was born on January 8, 1957 in Fort Lewis, Washington to the late Francis Edward Cavanaugh and Hazel Irene Harris. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Cavanaugh was a telecom engineer with Hitachi Tele-communications for 18 years and worked for various other communication companies. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Michael Cavanaugh.

Survivor's include: his wife, Susan Cavanaugh; one son, Brandon (Katy) Cavanaugh of Roswell, GA; one brother, Randall "Randy" (Brenda) Cavanaugh; three sisters, Carla (Jodie) Cavanaugh, Carol (Scott) Barker, and Karen (Dan) Allen; one grandchild, Sophia Cavanaugh; three nieces, Kery (James) O'Sullivan, Kelley Allen, and Kenna (Mick) Allen, and two nephews, Paul (Rachel) Barker and Randy (Malona) Cavanaugh also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022 at 2:00 PM from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Rosser, Rev. Howard Hewghey, and Dave Bouchelle officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 15, 2022 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where Mr. Cavanaugh will lie in state.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
