Mrs. Betty Sue Lanning Reece, age 80 of Talking Rock, GA, passed away Saturday, August 8th, 2026.

Mrs. Reece was born on March 18, 1946, in Tate, Georgia, to the late Elmer Lanning and Sally McPherson Lanning. She was a devoted housewife and a faithful member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Mrs. Reece loved the Lord dearly and cherished her family above all else. She found great joy in caring for those she loved, and her family was always an important part of her life. She will be remembered for her love, devotion, and the special place she held in the hearts of her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reece was preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, Mr. Morris Edward Reece.

Sue is survived by her four daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy (Scott) Kirk of Talking Rock, GA, Kim (Paul) Spradlin of Lizella, GA, Elaine (Hector) Espinoza of Jasper, GA, and Nikki (Joe) Towery of Ellijay, GA; two sons and daughter-in-law, Keith (Pam) Reece of Ellijay, GA and Mike Reece of Talking Rock, GA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Mrs. Reece will be held on Wednesday, August 12th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Allison and Rev. David Parks officiating. Graveside Interment will follow in the Yukon Cemetery. The following gentlemen will be serving as pallbearers: Matt Fountain, Ricky Reece, William Reece, Keith Reece, Joe Towery, and Mack Towery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 11th, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, August 12th, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 11:00 a.m. at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.

Food and flowers will be accepted in memory of Mrs. Betty Sue Reece.
