Mrs. Sylvia Jean Henson Totherow, age 86, of Ellijay, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8th, 2026, at her residence.

Mrs. Totherow was born on August 22nd, 1939, in Canton, GA, to the late James Roscoe Henson and Lillie Mae Teem Henson. She was a faithful member of the Harvest Missionary Church in Ellijay, Georgia, where she cherished her church family and her relationship with the Lord. She dearly loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them. She also enjoyed the companionship of her many friends and her beloved cats, which brought her much joy throughout the years. In her spare time, she loved painting and expressing her creativity through art. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and the love she shared with those around her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mr. James Reed Totherow; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Kay) Henson and Leon (Maddalue) Henson, and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Susie (Junnie) Davis, Marjorie (Alton) Howell, and Vera Henson.

She is survived by her children and spouses, Tommy (Angela) Totherow of Chatsworth, GA, Steve (Linda) Totherow of Ellijay, GA, and David (Angela) of Ellijay, GA; 7 grandchildren, Jacey, Marley, Ethan, Bryson, Thomas, Sylvie, and Wesley; 5 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; three brothers and sister-in-law, Harold Henson of Chatsworth, GA, Jerry Henson of Canton, GA, and Jimmy (Doris) Henson of Jasper, GA also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Mrs. Totherow will be held on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. from the Harvest Missionary Church with Rev. Glenn Arnold and Rev. Wallace Parks officiating. Graveside Interment will follow in the Yukon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bryson Totherow, Thomas Totherow, Wesley Totherow, Colt Henderson, Alan Henderson, and Camry Coleman.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers and food, donations can be made to Compassus Hospice in memory of Sylvia Totherow.
