Mr. Teddy Andrew Root, age 58 of Ellijay, passed away Monday, November 28th, 2022 with his family and loved ones by his side.

Ted was born September 28th, 1964, in Virginia Beach, Virginia to the late Edward Slade Root and Margaret Ann Jackson Root. He was a loving, caring husband and father and was the greatest Poppy to his five grandkids. His family was his pride and joy. Ted was an avid sports fan and loved spending his weekends watching his favorite teams with his friends and family. He had the biggest heart that shined brightly in his personal and business lives. It didn't matter what someone's past looked like, he was always willing to offer a second chance. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Billy Root; sister, Mary Ellen Kearns; and nephews, Shawn Neuman, Joey Neuman, and Robert Murnigahan.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Lisa Root; son, Kevin and Courtney Root; daughter, Katie and Tucker Stenberg; and five grandchildren, Aviah Root, Eslie Root, Elisha Root, Silas Root, and Mattie Stenberg also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 4th at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Elder Shannon Bearden officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday, December 4th from 10:00 am until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia Foundation or Alzheimer's Foundation in loving memory of Mr. Ted Root.
