Mr. Thomas Ray O'Neal, age 73 of Ellijay, passed away on Friday, May 26th, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. O'Neal was born on December 10th, 1949 in Winston County Alabama. He was the owner of O'Neal's Family Barber Shop here in Ellijay. Mr. O'Neal was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend and he was the glue that kept the family together. In addition to his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by his loving wife, Guadalupe R. O'Neal.

Survivors include sons, Juan Ruiz of Ellijay, Shawn O'Neal of Clinton, AL, Shannon O'Neal of Ohio, Ryan O'Neal of Ellijay, and Thomas Ray O'Neal Jr. of Ellijay; brother, Mark O'Neal of Sylacauga AL; sisters, Martha Turner of Goodwater AL and Arlene Castleberry of Winchester TN; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Arnold to be officiating. Military rights will be provided by the United States Army. Inurnment will be at the Yukon Cemetery at a later date.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023 from 10:00 am until the service hour of 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Flowers and food will both be accepted in memory of Mr. O'Neal.
