Wilfredo will be remembered for his deep love of God, his quiet strength, warm heart, gentle spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him through his laughter and kindness.
Wilfredo Ortiz, age 58, of The Bronx, New York, entered into eternal rest on June 29, 2026. Born on November 13, 1967, in The Bronx, New York, he was the beloved son of Ruben and Eugenia Ortiz.
Wilfredo will be remembered for his deep love of God, his quiet strength, warm heart, gentle spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him through his laughter and kindness. He cherished his family and friends, found great delight in God's creation—especially animals—and had a lifelong love of music. A talented saxophonist, he shared that gift with others throughout his life. His devotion to prayer, particularly the Holy Rosary, was a quiet witness to the faith that sustained him.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 37 years, Olga Lissette Ortiz; his daughter, Linda Ortiz Gupta (Ajay Gupta); his cherished grandchildren, Aria Ortiz Gupta and Lucas Ortiz Gupta; his siblings, Ruben Ortiz Jr. (Pamela Ortiz), Marilyn Ortiz, and Judith Gabriel; as well as his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ruben and Eugenia Ortiz.
The family finds comfort in the words of our Lord:
"I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live." — John 11:25
