Mr. William Cropp Granberry, III, age 86 of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2026.

Mr. Granberry was born on November 26, 1939, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late William Cropp Granberry, II, and Lottie Roberts Granberry. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy. A man of strong character, he was known for his unwavering work ethic, dedication, and commitment to providing for those around him. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sons, William Grady Werderman and Christopher Lee Werderman.

He was a member of the American Legion, where he greatly enjoyed spending time in fellowship with friends and taking part in dancing and community gatherings. His presence, kindness, and steady nature will be remembered by all who knew him.

Survivors include his children, Ricky McKinzie, Eddie McKinzie, June Grizzle, Dorothy Hendricks, and Barbara Sissy Mars (Randall); 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 19th at 11 am from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Tarr officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery at 1:30 pm with Military Rites by the U.S. Navy.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 19th from 10 am until 11 am at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in memory of Mr. Granberry.
