William Dempsey Greer, age 85, of Ellijay passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.

Born in Blue Ridge to the late Floyd Greer and Maudie Farmer, William resided for many years in the Ellijay area. He worked several years for Goldkist and was a member at Berean Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his son, Stacy Greer; sister, Mary Davis along with his brothers, Don Greer and Tom Greer

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 66 years, Helen Grace Pierce Greer; sons, Charles Greer and James Greer; granddaughter, Jennifer (Jason) Cranford; great grandsons Zayne Rommel and Christian Rommel, along with special family friends, Donna Wheeler and Elizabeth Rommel.

The family will receive friends from  4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Bernhardt Funeral Home of Ellijay. Visitation will conclude with a word of prayer from Rev. Billy Dotson.

The family will accept food during visitation.
